Hudson Crossing to Present at the PhoCusWright Conference, “The Perfect Storm: Search, Shop, Buy”

Hudson Crossing to Present at the PhoCusWright Conference, “The Perfect Storm: Search, Shop, Buy”

New York, New York (PRWEB) November 11, 2008

Hudson Crossing announced today that it will present at the PhoCusWright travel conference, “The Perfect Storm: Search, Shop, Buy” on November 19-20 in Hollywood, CA. The title of the presentation is “The State of Travel Investment in a Turbulent Financial Climate”.

“Given the current financial climate, many investors and operators within the travel sector are eager to obtain guidance about future economic conditions and how they might impact their investment choices in travel,” said Michael W. McCormick, Managing Partner, Hudson Crossing. “While we agree that short term indicators suggest demand for travel will ease, we remain equally bullish about the long-term prospects for travel and media, and believe the current environment will create breathing room for current value propositions to be validated, sharpened, or rejected,” added McCormick.

In December of 2007 Hudson Crossing predicted that investment within the travel sector would remain strong despite the prospect of a challenging credit climate ahead. As expected, 2008 has proven to be a strong year for venture capital investments in the travel sector with in excess of 30 deals closed, each ranging between $ 3M and $ 100M. A recent survey by Hudson Crossing of the venture capital and private equity community indicated that despite the challenging credit environment, investors remained bullish about the long-term prospects of travel as an investment category. Hudson Crossing reveals its 2009 predictions and highlights strategies leaders in travel should consider as part of their FY 2009 strategic plan.

“Invoking the timeless wisdom of Warren Buffett, now is perhaps the best time to solidify current market positions and prepare for the next wave of growth that will eventually come. This may require greater risk tolerance and somewhat contrarian thinking, but we believe a long-term bias toward growth and value creation in travel will be rewarded in the next expansion cycle,” said McCormick.
