Canadian Philanthropist Jesse Willms Launches New Site

Canadian Philanthropist Jesse Willms Launches New Site

(PRWEB) November 18, 2010

Noted Edmonton philanthropist and Internet entrepreneur, Jesse Willms, is launching a dedicated website so people can help spread the word about worthwhile charities, and give up and coming entrepreneurs business advice.

“Whether it’s worthy nonprofit groups or up and coming entrepreneurs, I like to help people,” Willms said. “I’ve written quite a bit of advice but never had it archived in one place. This will make things easier for people I think.”

The site, http://www.jessewillmspressreleases.com will be updated regularly and maintain an online archive of past press releases and other announcements.

Willms has become famous in the Canadian business and philanthropic communities. He started his first business in his basement when he was 16 years old. Within six years, he was running a multimillion-dollar operation.

Last summer, he was watching television when he saw Bill Gates and Warren Buffett challenge successful entrepreneurs to use their wealth and influence to support charities and other nonprofit groups that work to make the world a better place.

Since then, he has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to various charities including World Vision, The Kiva Foundation, The Breast Cancer Research Fund and Big Brothers/Big Sisters Of Canada. He has also volunteered his time to a variety of Edmonton nonprofit groups including Santas Anonymous, The Mustard Seed food bank and Habitat For Humanity.

As he has done so, he has documented his efforts and explained online why he has chosen these charities to support. “When I first contacted these charities I asked them what I could do to help,” Jesse Willms said. “They told me that donations are important, but it’s just as important to help spread the word about the work they do. So, I’ve done my best to send out press releases and encourage others to support charities as well.”

Jesse Willms said that by having all of his press releases consolidated on one site, he feels that his promotional efforts for the organizations will be even more effective than before.

He’s also issued press releases advising young entrepreneurs about how to make money online while still behaving ethically and honestly. Those press releases, he said, will also be included on the new website.

“This will be a one stop site filled with information that I hope will help people and nonprofit organizations,” Willms said.

Edmonton Philanthropist Jesse Willms Gives Money To Animal Rescue Following The Japanese Disaster

Edmonton Philanthropist Jesse Willms Gives Money To Animal Rescue Following The Japanese Disaster

(PRWEB) March 30, 2011

Jesse Willms, a well-known local entrepreneur and philanthropist, has donated $ 1,000 to Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue And Support and is encouraging others to follow in his footsteps.

“The devastating events of the last two weeks have not only hurt the people of Japan,” Willms said. “It has also left tens of thousands of dogs, cats and other pets injured, displaced and homeless. These creatures cannot survive without our help. We owe it to our furry friends to do what we can.”

Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue And Support is a coalition of three groups: HEART-Tokushima, Animal Garden Niigata and the Japan Cat Network. All three groups have been helping animals in Japan for years before the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear accidents struck the island nation earlier this month.

The groups have come together in order to find the best ways to take care of cats, dogs and other pets whose lives have been put at risk due to the series of natural disasters.

“They have a strict no-kill policy,” Willms said. “Their goal is to provide medical treatment to injured animals and to find homes for animals who have gotten lost, or whose caregivers have been critically injured or killed. These animals are very vulnerable and may not survive without the work of Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue And Support.”

Willms is a well-known member of the Edmonton business community. In addition to running a full-time marketing company, he is always seeking new ways to contribute his time and effort into helping various charities (http://www.jessewillmsreview.com/).

While watching television last summer, he was inspired by the words of Warren Buffett and Bill Gates to find ways to give back to the community. Since then, he has donated a generous amount of his funds and hours of his time to local, national and international non-profit organizations.

“I am a strong believer in helping vulnerable communities,” Willms said. “Whenever disaster strikes, I try to figure out what I can do to help. And I have always been an animal lover – which is why I have spent a good deal of time supporting the Edmonton Humane Society and the Gulf Coast Restoration Fund.”

Willms said he hoped other people would be inspired by his efforts and donate money to Japan Earthquake Animal Rescue And Support as well.

“Even if you can’t afford to make a donation, you can take a minute to tell your friends, family members and co-workers about their efforts in Japan,” Willms said. “Building awareness for their cause is a great way to help them garner the resources they need to succeed.”

Jesse Willms: Giving To The Canadian Red Cross To Help The Homeless Victims Of The Slave Lake Forest Fire

Jesse Willms: Giving To The Canadian Red Cross To Help The Homeless Victims Of The Slave Lake Forest Fire

Slave Lake Fire

Edmonton, Alberta (PRWEB) May 19, 2011

Edmonton Philanthropist Jesse Willms announced today that he is giving $ 5,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help them provide shelter, food and support to Slave Lake residents who have lost their homes due to raging forest fires this week.

“These people are our friends and neighbors,” Willms said. “We owe it to them to do whatever we can to help them in their time of need. The Canadian Red Cross is in charge of humanitarian efforts at the scene, and they deserve our support.”

The fire that has been burning for several days now has wiped out entire subdivisions in the Slave Lake area, leaving more than 7,000 people homeless.

“What’s even more disturbing,” Willms said, “is that there are indications that this fire was sparked by people being irresponsible. It’s bad enough when forest fires are due to natural causes, but it’s particularly horrific when they are the result of manmade actions.”

Willms is a well-known Edmonton businessman. He started his first company in his parents’ basement when he was 16 years old. By the time he turned 22, he had built that company into a multimillion-dollar business now called Terra Marketing Group.

Last year he was inspired by the words of Bill Gates and Warren Buffett to use his money and influence to help make the world a better place. Since then he has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars and many hours of his time to reputable non-profit organizations.

“I’ve thrown my support behind the Red Cross before,” Willms said. “I do so because they are the most reliable and trustworthy organization at the scene whenever any disaster strikes. I also donated money to the Red Cross when earthquakes struck Japan earlier this year.”

In fact, at the time of the Japanese earthquake, Willms noted that one of the reasons to support the Red Cross when disasters happen overseas is because eventually disaster will strike at home. “No community is immune from natural disasters and we all need to help each other whenever and wherever they may strike.”

Willms said he is also looking to find ways to help with the physical reconstruction that will have to take place is Slave Lake once the danger of fire has completely abated.

“I don’t believe in simply giving money,” Willms said. “I also believe in giving my time. As soon as it is safe to do so, I will be out there with other volunteers helping organizations that need manpower.”

Willms said he was making the announcement today to make build awareness for the Red Cross’ efforts in Slave Lake, and to encourage other people to provide them with their support as well.

Children’s Hospital Boston is one of the largest pediatric care centers in the world. It offers a complete range of medical care for children from birth through 21 years of age. Its Advanced Fetal Care Center can begin interventions at 15 weeks into a pregnancy, and in some cases including congenital heart disease and strabismus the hospital will care for adult patients as well. The institution is home to 40 clinical departments and 225 specialized clinical programs.

For more than two decades, the hospital has been rated by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation’s top pediatric care centers. It ranked in the top three of all pediatric specialty categories, and number one in heart surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, urology, nephrology and orthopedics. BCH was the first stand-alone pediatric hospital in New England to be awarded Magnet status by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Who Is Jesse Willms?
