  • B.Obama’s Health Care Bill… Do you trust this administrations policy?? Visit my channel and Discover precisely why Americans voices counts !

  • This is the word you need to know: Deregulation. The phrase: Deregulation caused the recession.

  • Great video!!! way to go Peter we needed this channel

  • It is possible. Many, many people do not even understand the economics of how things work. An actual understanding of the Keynesian vs. Austrian school of economics eludes the vast majority of people.

  • Peter was right.

They do everything they can to destroy the economy but on purpose!

Do you really believe the government is too dumb that if they really wanted to pull the nation out of the crisis they would make things worse without knowing it? COME ON!

  • Good speak up Peter! I also like how Big Wets Stock Talk said it. For this market to keep going up … Obama, on his next address, needs to turn around, pull down his pants and sh-i*t a gold brick …… and keep sh-i*tting ‘em.

  • From everything Peter mentioned, the first step for economic recovery is shutting down the Federal Reserve. To this day, that organization is illegal and should not be in operation.

  • Hi Peter,
Some great thoughts as usual, but believing that the rest of the world will stay afloat once the US tank further is not real. Everything is strongly connected and noone can escape if the US is going down.
    Keep it up!
    Patrick

  • yup dam fed

  • I believe he said that all the problems were caused by government interference in the market, which allowed people to pursue profits built on malinvestment. Providing goods and services for a profit in a competitive environment under free market conditions is not the problem.

  • I disagree seeking profits is not a virtuous thing to do. Consider Peter that all the problems you constantly refer to in the market are caused by one underlying motive… you guessed it profits.

  • Yes if you research the congress you will see many of them are FAILED business people. It’s almost sad to see how clueless some really are on economic issues and yet they control our destiny. You have doctors practicing medicine, business men and women practicing whatever business they are in, lawyers practicing law and then you have politicians (who primarily practicing posturing) running the economy?? Doesnt make much sense to me. Something really has to be done about this in a hurry.

  • It would also help if they could give tax credits for manufacturing to bring jobs back from overseas. As a side note, it’s amazing how it seems like the stupidest people tend to always have the power while some of the smartest individuals are shut out. Look at all the banking executives who ran their companies in the ground yet made out like bandits (literally) Look at our politicians. Most of them are lawyers, professional politicians (professional liars), or failed business people.

  • I wish the Government would adopt the “Less is more” matra. The problems with our economy are relatively simple in theory. (Not painless to fix mind you) The Government simply needs cut it’s spending by not bailing out everyone and their mom, bring troops home, massively slash government payroll, and knock off all the pork barrell crap. They need to get our economy more competitive by slashing taxes and imposing a flat tax on all incomes both corporate and individual.

  • Gov’t Size/Spending and Economic growth are inversely related. There was a nice commentary from the Fraser institute here in Canada today on that issue.

  • I personally like what Ron Paul is saying. Before we start taking away from area’s that are serving a function, lets start, piece by piece, stripping away the areas that are not constitutional. A right to life would make welfare a constitutionally sound dept. But there are literally thousands that are not serving any real purpose for the people, but only serve the invisible hand of the gov’t, that’s what needs to get cut.

  • I agree with you there, they’ve borrowed and spent and taxed like crazy and I fear its just gonna be more of the same. Yeah I have done all that. I guess I see the difference b/w someone whose in a tight spot and has to go on welfare for say 6 mo till they get back on their feet than ppl who abuse it and stay on it for 18 yrs. The govt would have to do alot of cutting esp overseas which they’re not likely to do.

  • todd, now you are making sense. Welfare does provide a valuable function. I assume you have family, have graduated high school at least, and have options in the way of gainful employment. That is not the case for everyone.

Do people take advantage of the system, yes, but does the system take advantage of people too, yes.

If you think cutting welfare = decrease in taxes, you are in another pipe dream. Gov’t is too far underwater to ever decrease taxes, regardless of what is said.

  • You would have a decreased tax burden, but a robust economy comes from having low taxes in the first place. Underage girls won’t ever stop getting prego thats a pipe dream. What I’m suggesting is that the govt quit rewarding underage girls for having kids prematurely and quit rewarding illegal immigrants with social welfare programs. A robust economy comes from having a good manufacturing capacity making products ppl wanna buy and selling them here and abroad.

  • todd, so what you are saying is if we contain illegal immigration, and cut welfare, we will have a robust economy and underage girls will stop getting pregnant?

I’m sorry, but that is about as left field as it gets, or maybe right field. Not sure, don’t care, it doesn’t make any sense.

  • I’m not rambling look at how big our welfare state and entitlement system is. its bigger than the GDP of Canada. True the banks are getting bailouts and all that. I mean look at how bad illega immigration is, because theres no incentive from the govt to do it legally when they can get SS benefits and food stamps and all that w/o becoming a citizen, and I’m thinking thats why teen pregnancy is so bad because of all this free money from a massive welfare state. I’m not that far left field.

  • todd, you’re coming from left field here, last time I checked the ppl weren’t getting anything for free, the banks are. As for the materialistic society, that has been created by Americans, if you’re happy with it then go be happy, if you want to do something about, start with trying to make some sense in your response and don’t just ramble about what your circle of friends told you about the “way it is”

  • Americans live in a materialistic society, its what you got and how much you got of it. I’m 23 y/o and its been that way for as long as I can remember. Plus the govt giving ppl free money and handouts is gonna discourage that hard work thing some.

  • We’ve been basically living off the industry and wealth created by previous hard-working generations for much too long now. Obama isn’t telling people the truth because no one (probably himself included) wants to face it. But Americans are making their fate far worse by deluding themselves about the true state of our economy.

  • When will America get back to working hard rather than shopping hard?
