US Billionaire Bets Big on US Economy


American billionaire investor Warren Buffett has cast a big vote of confidence on the US economy by purchasing one of the nation’s largest rail systems. The deal, worth 44 billion dollars, marks the single biggest investment ever undertaken by Buffett’s company. Analysts say it’s also a big gamble on the economic future of the United States. VOA’s Mil Arcega reports.

  • I strongly agree.Even here in New Zealand, there are lines which were up-lifted back in the 60′s or so, that could have been viable today.
    And they want to close more lines!

  • Railroads built this nation and here after the 175th anniversery of the first us railroad, they are going to save us. I think that all of the lines which have been torn out and abandoned should be rebuilt, personally.
